What is pickleball?

Pickleball is a racket sport invented in the United States in 1965, combining elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played with a solid paddle, a perforated plastic ball and a 36-inch-high net, on a 20 × 44 ft court. Easy to learn, accessible at all ages, it is currently the fastest-growing racket sport in the world — and has been expanding rapidly in French-speaking Switzerland since 2023.
